My passion is to support children and adults with disabilities, as well as their families, in many different contexts. My current position as a FSCD Caseworker includes supporting children and their families in accessing the services and supports they require to be successful in reaching their goals. This includes building rapport with the family, and assessing both the individual adult or child’s strengths and needs as well as the family’s strengths and needs. Through this process, I assist the family in determining their priorities and developing their goals, as well as assisting them to find the appropriate resources in the community to meet those goals. I have also had opportunities to work closely with partners in health and education, including physicians, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech language therapists and physical therapists, with the overall goal being to support children and their families to be successful at home, school and in their community. I have extensive experience serving on several committees and participated in several project teams and working groups to improve processes and further enhance the services that can be provided to the individuals and families we serve.
