  Simon Barrow is a Simon is best known for creating the Employer Brand approach to management when, after his time as a consumer goods brand manager on Knorr (now Unilever) and later Colgate-Palmolive, he faced the challenges of line management of employees. He worked with Professor Tim Ambler from London Business School, on the first academic paper on the Employer Brand in 1996.
 Later he became CEO of the consumer advertising agency Ayer Barker and then CEO of Barkers Human Resources where he saw the need for a consulting business and formed People in Business which he later bought out to become an independent business. Notable clients have included Hiscox, Invesco, Henderson, Newton, Man Group, Standard Life, NHS GPs, Tesco and the Israeli Teva Pharmaceuticals.

 Simon is a global speaker on the Employer Brand (now a subject with over 3.4m Google results). He has worked on the people and cultural aspects of 40 Mergers and Acquisitions 

He is joint author of two business books – The Employer Brand - bringing the best of brand management to people at work (Wiley 2005) and Employee Communications in Mergers and Acquisitions – the soft stuff is the hard bit (Gower 2009). His book of poems about management Humanity at Work will be published later this year

 His education included an Exchange Scholarship 12th Grade year in the United States, followed by Christ Church, Oxford (BA/MA). He is a trustee of the Teaching Awards Trust, aiming to improve the public recognition of great teachers.
