Throughout the years, I have strived to master the languages mentioned above by taking extra courses at different times and places, such as the summer intensive English language course taken at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica besides Italian and French language courses at some schools in Barranquilla, Colombia. With more than 10 years in the educational field and social L2 interaction, I have come to develop a cultural sensibility and emotional awareness that definitely contributes to a full understanding of the language’s unique bonding characteristics. As an interpreter, I worked at TLC, an international marriage agency. There, my duties went from organizing formal social gatherings to illustrating foreigners on our country´s cultural backgrounds, values and beliefs. This with the purpose of creating a respectful and understanding environment where these gentlemen could interact socially with Colombian women. I have also worked as a bilingual self contained elementary school teacher using ESL approaches to teach different subjects such as; Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, among others. Besides this, I taught general and business English to adults using different methodologies, as well as technological tools to give online lessons to students. Based on my experience and my life project I would like to be considered as a potential candidate for a job opening.
