Sheree Sims Email & Phone Number | Sheree Sims was the former founder of the Identity Club, which was created because of the need to promote self-worth in the African American youth and provide help overcoming obstacles in difficult situations. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in African and African American studies and an associates degree in Office Management and Administration. Studying at the University of Cincinnati, Sheree had started her journey seeking ways to Hey improve the socio- economical situations that African American communities face in today’s society. There, she worked with the University of Cincinnati Community Partnership Program as a Project Assistant helping to revitalize urban neighborhoods that has been diluted with drugs, crime, abandon buildings and violence. Sheree has also taught at an urban city charter school for two years as well as a well known head start center for one year. She served as a coordinator of the African American Gala of 2010 with Charlie Winburn as the guest speaker and volunteered at the Juneteenth Festival celebrating African American Freedom. Sheree is the Cochlear Implant Coordinator for UC Health Department of Otolaryngology. She is a patient advocate for the hearing impaired community, which involves assisting patients with insurance approvals for costly hearing implants. She hopes to one day bring more awareness to hearing implants in the African American Community. Sheree recently obtained her masters degree in Public/Social Policy and is working on a publication titled Closing the gap in cochlear implant access for African-Americans: a story of outreach and collaboration by our cochlear implant program.
