I overcame my own lack of business skills and created a company that helped businesses improve their internal communications and training, attract new clients and expand brand awareness. My dive into entrepreneurship inspired me to focus on an area of personal development in sales and marketing, and I was able to break through personal communication barriers to achieve my own sales goals while helping clients do the same. As a business owner of a video production company for 6 years, I gained valuable knowledge of marketing, corporate communications and project management while honing awareness of client-focused needs. In my current role as a Service BC Help Desk agent for Maximus Canada, service is at the heart of our mission to help citizens access BC Government services online. It starts with listening, involves critical thinking and problem-solving, and results in positive outcomes for citizens and government stakeholders. I have also lent my writing, editing and media experience to Maximus during the Covid-19 outbreak when I fulfilled the role of Knowledge Base Analyst, helping keep employees informed of government updates in a succinct format that could be quickly accessed and easily relayed to citizens. I am passionate about efficiency, clear communication and improving understanding between people. It’s my belief that better understanding leads to positive outcomes for everyone.
