Originally from the midwest, and grew up in Michigan, out of my dedication to higher education and admiration for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) I relocated to Greensboro, North Carolina, and began working for North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. I am passionate about and committed to leadership and established a transformational leadership style that allows leaders to develop as empowered and confident leaders. I was passionately committed to the successful matriculation of college students for 30+ years and built on the foundation gained at North Carolina A&T State University; there I held positions as the Assistant Director of Financial Aid, Associate Director of Housing and Residence Life, and Associate Director of Academic Excellence & Retention. I have also served as a Dean of Student Affairs at a small private university in High Point, North Carolina. I am a woman of faith, and an active leader, currently serving at Mt. Zion Church in Greensboro, North Carolina where Bishop Bryan J. Pierce, Sr. is the Senior Pastor. In 2018 I was appointed as the Enabling Team Leader, leading the Steward Ministry, Education Resource Ministry, Transportation Ministry, and Security Ministry. Fun Fact: began ministry leadership in the 5th grade as the youngest Sunday School teacher for the Kindergarten class at St. Mark Baptist Church in Benton Harbor, Michigan. As a teenager, I served as the Sunday School Secretary which gave her the opportunity to speak publicly before she knew it was something to fear. In the springtime, I looked forward to selecting the longest Easter speech at the back of the Easter speech book and reciting it on an elevated stage, in front of family, friends, and members of the congregation.
