Shebani Rao is a I am skilled at making technical information accessible and actionable. I use my research and evaluation background and multimedia communication skills to create transformative systems change. I have professional experience in developing large-scale racial equity strategies, collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, providing technical assistance, building coalitions, conducting workshops and trainings, teaching, and creating social media content. As an illustrator and writer, I use my art to amplify the causes I care about most. I combine my passions for art and teaching through my volunteer work, which has included designing flyers for social justice organizations, teaching art therapy and art workshops for incarcerated and homeless individuals, and tutoring Philadelphia youth in reading and writing. I have created artwork for several nonprofits, including the W. Haywood Burns Institute, the South Asian American Digital Archives (SAADA), and the Philadelphia Bail Fund. My writing and artwork has been featured in Peggy McIntosh's book of essays, as well as McSweeney's, LitHub, The Margins, Buzzfeed, HelloGiggles, The Aerogram, and Brown Girl Magazine.
