Sharon Wilmoth Email & Phone Number | I have been involved in all aspects of research, including experimental and clinical trials research throughout my entire 35+ years at the Wake Forest School of Medicine. This experience has afforded me the knowledge and expertise to qualify as an excellent Senior Manager of Clinical Research and Project Manager. My experience has expanded from being involved in pioneering work in ultrasound research to perfect ultrasound imaging of the carotid arteries, to Lead Project Manager in large clinical trials. I have been involved and have applied my abilities in clinical trials (such as MIDAS, PREVENT,ACCORD, and ACCORDION ) from beginning to end which includes but is not limited to, protocol development, trial design, implementation of protocols, follow-up, website design, data collection, training, presentations, and dissemination and publication of study results. I collaborate effectively with the Principal Investigators and Co-Investigators, statistical staff and project management here at the WFU Coordinating Center in regard to modifying, implementing, monitoring, and validating experimental procedures applicable to grants and projects awarded to the Coordinating Center. I also collaborate with Principle Investigators and Coordinators, locally, nationally and internationally to ensure that all appropriate staff are adequately trained in the implementation of the protocol, data entry and measurement procedures and ensure that all aspects of the studies are conducted in accordance to local and federal regulations and guidelines. I have also successfully plan, organize, and negotiate budgets and contracts for local and national meetings and I facilitate the compilation of special reports to the NHLBI Contracts Office. I am currently working with an excellent Team on the Alzheimer's Association U.S. Study to Protect Brain Health Through Lifestyle Intervention to Reduce Risk (U.S. POINTER). I also currently serve on an IRB Board at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
