She is an Independent Nurse Prescriber with over fifteen years experience in aesthetic practice and works with her husband Dr Martyn King at Cosmedic Training Academy and Cosmedic Skin Clinic offering varied aesthetic treatments and procedures. She studied originally at the University of Wolverhampton and worked as a theatre sister in plastic and reconstructive surgery both in the NHS and private sector where she developed an interest in aesthetic medicine. She undertook the V300 at De Montfort University Leicester in 2010. Sharon was appointed to the board of the BACN in March 2012 and is the current Vice-Chair. A founder and board member of the Aesthetic Complications Expert Group and a Director of ACE Group World she has over the years worked with some of the leading manufacturers within the aesthetics sector including Bioform, Merz, Sinclair and Galderma. In 2009 she received the country award for her work training and supporting practitioners and was instrumental in supporting and training for doctors and nurses new to aesthetic practice, and assisting experienced practitioners to develop their clinical skills. Passionate to promote professionalism and raise standards within the aesthetic industry Sharon works with nurses and pharmacists undertaking the V300 and is a practice assessor she holds a formal teaching qualification and is a frequent contributor to professional publications and is a KOL for several pharmaceutical medical advisory boards. During the current pandemic she has taken an additional part time position at UHB as a Vaccinator Hub Nurse in Charge transferring her clinical and managerial skills to assist in the vaccine role out.
