Shannon Torborg Email & Phone Number | Following completion of my diagnostic practicum for graduate training in clinical psychology in June 2001, I accepted a position with the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) where I continued to work throughout my graduate training. I received my Master’s Degree in September 2002. In 2005, I completed an APPIC accredited internship at Southeast Human Service Center in Fargo, North Dakota. My clinical research project in partial completion of the Doctorate of Clinical Psychology Degree at Minnesota School of Professional Psychology examined the effectiveness of Dialectical Behavior Therapy on traits of Borderline Personality Disorder among clients with cognitive impairment. I received my Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Minnesota School of Professional Psychology, an APA-accredited University, in June 2006. Soon after graduating, I resumed working for DHS as a Psychologist II at Minnesota Extended Treatment Options (METO). I received licensure by the Minnesota Board of Psychology on 11/14/2008. In June 2010, I was promoted to Director of Psychological and Behavioral Services and later became the Clinical Director of METO in December 2010. In June 2011, I was offered an opportunity to become the primary psychologist for the Center for Intellectual Disability at Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center (AMRTC). I remained at AMRTC until March 2014, when I joined the Jensen Implementation Office (JIO). Within my role for the DHS JIO, I primarily provided clinical consultation and evaluation to ensure designated programs within state operated services were in compliance with the Jensen Settlement Agreement. In February 2015, I took a job at Allina Health in Annandale, MN. Within my current position for Allina Health, I provide individual and group therapy to individuals with a variety of clinical presentations. I also administer psychological tests to assist with answering various diagnostic and clinical questions.
