Working closely with the Board, management team and a broad-range of stakeholders this involved fundamental reforms to its funding, infrastructure, dispute-processes, management and governance arrangements. I successfully led the process for the formal authorisation of the new AFCA scheme by the Federal Minister, transition to the new AFCA Board along with the seamless transfer of staff, infrastructure and assets into the new entity. Prior to taking on this role, I was a Commissioner at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) from May 2010 to August 2011. I was at the Monetary Authority of Singapore ( MAS ) from 2001 to 2010. As Deputy Managing Director ( Market Conduct ) at MAS from March 2005, I was responsible for capital market and business conduct regulation in Singapore and chaired Singapore’s National Financial Education Steering Committee. I am currently involved in project-based advisory work for a range of organisations, a program leader for the Toronto Centre for Global Leadership in Financial Supervision’s annual Singapore regional securities regulator program and as a director of Superannuation Consumers Australia and the Castlemaine Art Museum.
