Cross-cutting themes across my work include: developing human potential to enable flourishing; innovation; promoting resilience, health and equity; preventing disease; and the translation and dissemination of research-based prevention modalities to reach the tipping point. My focus has expanded to include the implementation of love as a social and public health intervention to prevent violence and depression and to improve psycho-social and health outcomes. To that end, I am launching the World Love Forum and invite you to connect and join me in growing this. My work experience encompasses academia, and the governmental and non-governmental sectors, and private practice in the United States and Switzerland. Over the course of my career, my efforts have been supported by various sources including UNICEF, the National Institutes of Health (USA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States, the Swiss Secretary for Economic Affairs (SECO), the Rector of the University of Fribourg in Switzerland, the Novartis Foundation for Gerontology, the Gebert Rüf Foundation in Switzerland, the Reuters Foundation in the UK and the American Psychological Foundation. My experiences include grant writing, fund raising and leading the public side of a 28-country public-private partnership. An award winning teacher, I am passionate about sharing information to empower people to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives. I hold a DDS from Northwestern University, a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Vermont and a Masters degree in public health from Harvard University. Additionally, I have done various post-graduate trainings and fellowships, and am board-certified by the American Board of Public Health Examiners.
