In addition to his direct responsibilities in these areas, Scott also provides due diligence and analytical support to externally managed mandates in US and foreign equities including in emerging and developed equities. Prior to joining TELUS Pension Investments, Scott held positions in investment banking at BMO Capital Markets and FirstEnergy providing M&A advisory services to public and private companies along with debt and equity capital raising efforts, institutional equity research at National Bank Financial and BMO Capital Markets where he covered the entire energy and utilities sectors and accounting at Ernst & Young where he provided audit and assurance services to public and private companies. Scott holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Accounting (with Distinction) from the University of Alberta (UofA) and has attained the CFA and CBV professional designations. He serves as an Industry Mentor to UofA's PRIME program which oversees part of the University's endowment fund and is also involved as a volunteer to the CFA Institute's Global Investment Research Challenge where he mentors the UofA's team.
