He first started out in the field of aerospace, working at NASAs Jet Propulsion Laboratory in a Radar Research and Development group. There he provided digital, and analog design, over the course of 13 years, on three different projects, SIR-C, NSCAT and Cassini. From there, Scott left to work in the public sector and joined Precision Dynamics Corporation in September 1998. At Precision Dynamics for two tears, Scott led the RFID development group. There he designed an RFID wristband for hospital, outdoor events and jail inmate identification. He also provided custom gate antenna design for RFID readers, allowing the RFID wristband to be read while people are entering or exiting through a doorway. In September of 2000, Scott joined Escort Memory Systems as R&D Engineering Manager to continue more challenging projects, designing industrial tags and RFID readers in the field of RFID manufacturing automation. At Escort Memory Systems, he led the development for an HF reader that reads RFID tags going through a doorway 8 feet across, using a gate antenna system. The current state of the art HF reader at that time was about 4 feet. This was accomplished by developing a completely new and innovative antenna system and improved DSP RF algorithms.
