Saranya Balachandran is a With over 7 years of work experience in bioinformatics, I am a passionate and driven doctoral candidate at the Institute of Human Genetics at Universitätsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH). My current research focuses on single cell sequencing, a cutting-edge technique that allows the analysis of individual cells and their gene expression. I use Python to develop and apply computational tools and pipelines to process and interpret large-scale genomic data, and to identify novel biomarkers and pathways for human diseases. Previously, I worked as a scientific assistant at UKSH, where I supported various projects on cancer genomics and epigenetics. I also have experience as a student assistant at Mansystems, a software development company, where I learned and applied web development and database management skills. I hold a Master of Science degree in Bioinformatics from Universität des Saarlandes, and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Bioinformatics from Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences. I am motivated by the challenge and the potential of human genetics to improve health and well-being, and I aspire to contribute to the advancement of this field through my research, skills, and collaboration.
