I am a community connector: I feel that art is a source of daily joy and vision in a school, and community art creations should be embedded in the grounds and on the walls of the school. In this way we are reminded of the rich ties we are forging as a community in the care and education of our children together. I build a relationship with the children based on humor, empathy, and compassion. We struggle, reach out, and problem-solve together. Because of this, my studio is a place of energy, enthusiasm, and safety for children--they light up when they walk in, and their excitement sustains and inspires me day after day.
