Sara Tisherman Email & Phone Number | Unite for Sight is an NGO that partners with local eye care centers in Ghana, Honduras, and India. By partnering with local centers, the organization helps to build long lasting care to the people in these regions. Global Impact Fellows help Unite for Sight (UfS) to provide this clinics with the finances and manpower needed to reach people who otherwise would have no access to care. During my time in Ghana, I worked with three different clinics to reach from the capital city Accra to the northern region surrounding Tamale. All patients who are found to need eye surgery during UfS outreach screening receive their surgeries and follow-up care for free thanks to the fundraising done by the UfS Global Impact Fellows. As a fellow I helped to reach people who otherwise would never have been seen by an optometrist or ophthalmologist, observed surgeries that restored patients' vision which they had lost for years, and met people who's lives and stories changed my life forever.
