Sapir Ng Aia Email & Phone Number | I am currently an Associate Principal at DiMella Shaffer after working as a Senior Associate at NBBJ and an Associate Principal and lead designer at TRO JunglBrannen. My projects at NBBJ included new bed towers at major Boston area hospitals, a military hospital in Qatar, and Amgen’s headquarters in Cambridge. I also supported design efforts at NBBJ’s studios in LA, Shanghai, Columbus, and NYC. At TRO, my projects included several large, high-profile international government and healthcare buildings, such as the over 7 million sf New Jarha Hospital and the 2.2 million sf New Al Sabah Hospital in Kuwait. As a design leader, I was instrumental in the development of new design methodologies for the studio. From 2000 to 2010, I was an Associate and a Senior Designer at Tsoi/Kobus and Associates, where I led the design effort of TK&A’s high-profile projects, including the award-winning Center for Life Science Boston located in the Longwood Medical Area, and the award-winning University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital. The Center for Life Science Boston project has received an AIA New England design award, and the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital has won numerous awards, including AIA Healthcare and Modern Healthcare awards. Prior to working at TK&A, I was a designer at Carlos Zapata Studio, where I had the opportunity to work on the Miami International Airport, the NYC Port Authority Building, and the Chicago Bears Stadium. I have won several design competitions including ShiftBoston Ideas Design Competition in 2009, which led to my co-founding of TUTS (Tremont Underground Theater Space). On behalf of TUTS, I spoke at TEDx Boston in 2010, and IHAF’s Annual Conference in 2012 about "Exploring the Science Behind Ideas". I was featured on WGBH’s Callie Crossley Show and an audio documentary series called “Infinitespace” in NYC.
