At NYU, he was President of Stern’s chapter of The Adam Smith Society. Santiago was a teacher assistant in the Department of Economics for classes such as Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Money and Modern Capitalism, Asian Economies and International Trade. In summer 2014, Santiago worked as a Shot-term Consultant at The World Bank based in in Washington D.C. analyzing the 172 million international trade of quinoa that supported operations in Bolivia. During the summer 2015, Santiago worked at Falconi Consultants in Brazil designing and evaluating the reallocation of CRM-BPO operations to improve processes efficiency and achieve EBITDA savings of 1.2 million in 2015 and 8 million in 2016. Before joining Citi, he worked for 6 years in Colombia in a number of positions including Economic Advisor to the Minister of Finance of Colombia, Economist for the Financial Corporation for Territorial Development, and Market Analyst for the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation, Interbolsa and EPM-Telecommunications. Born in Colombia, Santiago holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering, a Master in Economics from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and a Master in Public Policy (MPP) from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota.
