As a part of this project we had to check market value of wide range of derivative products and loans and how are these being reported by the respective finance and risk team. In case there is any discrepancy of value of certain product, between finance and risk team, we had to do thorough investigation, liaise with finance, risk and feeds team and find out the reason behind it. I was also very closely involved with the automation of this project. We had to liaise with valuation teams to understand the discrepancies, get their approvals on the correct valuation model, get on call with senior management to incorporate those models so that the system could match the values with minimum human intervention. Prior to this, I was into AML, KYC and transaction monitoring with Wipro (for a different investment bank), Travel Ex and ICICI Bank. Doing through back ground check by looking into World Check, LexisNexis and other internal/external applications. Looking at signs of any suspicious transactions by tallying them with the requirements/information that counterpart has provided in their KYC documents and preparing SAR if necessary.
