How will the garment will fit into her life and more importantly, how does she feel in it? This approach to design has led to a love for textile development, timeless silhouettes and ways of making clothes that’ll last more than just a season. Currently based in the Snowy Mountains, at Birdsnest, they support the creative director as the product developer across denim, knitwear, c&s and woven lines for one of the company's biggest brands, boho bird. As well as bringing the company’s first sleep and loungewear brand, unwind by birdsnest, to life as its designer. In its third season, Unwind is celebration of colour and print, aiming to offer our customer pjs they can always sleep easy in. Samantha holds a Masters in Fashion (Design) and a Bachelor of Fashion (Design) (Honours), where they received first class honours, from RMIT in Melbourne. Across these degrees they have developed a unique pattern-making skillset, working predominantly into corsetry, lingerie and knitwear. A painstaking dedication to detail lead to a keen interest in developing textiles by hand, with heavily cabled knits, custom printed fabrications and delicate beading all becoming synonymous with their collections.
