This has influenced my educational choices, and was an imperative factor in deciding to study electrical and electronic engineering. This has led me into a career in electrical distribution. At University I was recognised as a punctual, hard working student and received an award for the industrial placement year I undertook and a Power Engineering Scholarship, which helped fund my studies and attain experience in the electricity distribution field. At university I earned a 1st class masters degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, which has aided my quick start in a career as an engineer in power distribution. Since leaving university I have undertaken a Graduate Trainee Engineer role, where I have been able to, or am going to experience the majority of business sectors within an electricity distribution company. These sectors include network services, system planning, primary system design, policy, system control and major projects. The combination of my academic studies and on-site experience with distribution systems is developing me into a well-rounded engineer, with a broad knowledge of the system components and operations.
