It may not matter if you have the best product or cheapest price, customer service is what can make or break the deal going forward. It's a key ingredient for a business for loyal and repeat business. Backtracking, I graduated the University of Minnesota in 2012 majoring in Business and Marketing with a minor in management. While learning about marketing and customer service in college, I was able to directly apply it to the Royal Inn. I've had great success over the past couple years marketing online for the Royal Inn - Hudson. With a 2200% increase in the last 5 years online, and a 57% increase in 2013 alone, we are already ahead of 2013 pace. While there is so much you can learn at an independent inn, I have maximized my past 7 years in the hotel business, bringing new guests to try a 1-star inn, analyzing data through Google Analytics, PPC, using third-party channels to increase brand awareness and revenue, dealing with guest issues, maximizing revenue in high demand situations, and learning how to get rave reviews. While I wish I could learned more from a chain/franchise hotel, I would like to take my experience and move onto expanding my knowledge in marketing. I am the type of guy who probably can't sell you a pen, but I probably could sell you that same pen through my marketing and customer service on the back-end with product knowledge. Hard-work and entrepreneurial spirit are built into me and am looking for a company who is willing to invest in me to get the best ROI they can possibly get.
