The final dissertation argued that these limitations are subsequently excluding the European SME sector, known as the ‘backbone of the European Economy’, from undertaking the necessary, fast-paced, radical transformations required to tackle further environmental degradation; including biodiversity loss, planetary warming and climate change. Aside from his interests in decarbonisation, climate change mitigation, green energy solutions, and business adaptation – Ryan’s other research interests are rooted in social mobility issues in Scotland. He has conducted prior research which has effectively demonstrated how tangible and intangible forms of capital are important tools for unlocking potential among young people, and can assist with increasing school attainment. Ryan has a keen interest in assisting with policy creation which directly reduces socio-economic inequality in the United Kingdom and continues to engage in this area of development alongside his other day-to-day activities as a volunteer with the Young Scot Young Person’s Guarantee Leadership Panel. Ryan is seeking full-time work opportunities to start in Autumn 2022.
