After getting involved with FIRST robotics in high school, I fell in love with robotics and engineering design as I found it to be a fantastic creative outlet and an opportunity to solve incredibly satisfying puzzles. After focusing on robotics and design in college, I went on to be hired at Intuitive Surgical and became a mechanical design engineer developing changes and improvements for the da Vinci Surgical Robots (Focusing on the flagship system, da Vinci Xi, the remanufactured system, da Vinci X, and new product developments). As my career developed I found that I not only excelled and enjoyed technical challenges, but that I also flourished at leading cross-functional teams, particularly for projects with aggressive schedules, undefined scopes, and complicated technical, regulatory, and business obstacles.
