Russell Weiner is a Biopharmaceutical expert with over three decades of hands-on involvement in pharmaceutical and biologic drug discovery/development, clinical trial management, and clinical project leadership. Demonstrates comprehensive proficiency in biologics pharmacokinetic (PK), immunogenicity (IMG), biomarker, and CDx assay development, validation, and deployment across global Phase 1-3 clinical trials. Known for establishing and fostering high-performing regulated bioanalytical (GLP and clinical), molecular biomarker, companion diagnostic (CDx), and bioassay operations teams within both established large pharmaceutical companies and startup biotech. Successfully led early clinical development teams overseeing the progression of numerous small molecule immunology and inflammation therapeutics from discovery lead optimization to Phase 2 proof-of-concept. Contributed significantly to the FDA submission of over 30 INDs across diverse therapeutic areas, notably oncology, autoimmune diseases, organ transplantation and Alzheimer’s Disease. Played a pivotal role in the development and approval of several groundbreaking oncology, immuno-oncology, and immuno-modulatory therapies, including but not limited to Erbitux (cetuximab), Orencia (abatacept), Nulojix (belatacept), Yervoy (ipilimumab), Keytruda (pembrolizumab), along with its associated Agilent/Dako PD-L1 IHC 22C3 pharmDx CDx assay, and Vanflyta (quizartinib).
