Russell Hofer is a MSEE professional possessing broad radio frequency (RF) background encompassing all stages of product development from concept phase through production. Theoretical and practical experience developing several RF products to include Phased Antenna Arrays and Synthetic Aperture Radars (SAR). Experienced in the RFID industry toward applying RF technologies to *solve* business needs. Outside-the-box thinker with leadership skills, and enjoys team collaboration in order to solve challenging problems. Extensive RF prototyping and lab expertise, pronounced hardware debugging, outdoor RF and anechoic chamber field-testing, antenna characterization, and automated test equipment background. Experience in RF and digital printed circuit board generation and electro-mechanical integration. Architect-level experience in the development of embedded firmware in C/C++ and application-level experience in Java. In addition to hands-on hardware and embedded development, possesses strong math/analytical understanding; has expert-level proficiency developing in Matlab. Extensive experience performing system level block-diagramming/modeling and designing unique algorithms, resulting in filed patents. Experience with HFSS to include design and simulation of phased antenna arrays, patch, and spiral antennas. Knowledgeable in Microwave office toward creation of RF microstrip circuit components and board design.
