Naturally, once I get valves approved, I go after the project and turnaround opportunities that open up. Also assist end users with valve procurement strategy for TA's and projects so that they procure in the most efficient manner possible. I support and work with end users and major distributors by doing training sessions (virtual and in person) in the following areas: 1. Valve fundamentals 2. API 602 and 600 valves 3. Type of valves used in petroleum refining and renewable diesel plants 4. Care and maintenance of forged steel and cast steel gate, globe and check valves Have knowledge of the U.S. refining industry, including familiarity with all refining companies, the different types of refineries, and how they procure pipe, valves, and fittings. Have built strong relationships with key corporate and plant decision makers at numerous major refining companies. Possess understanding of specialty valve sales including alkylation, chromes, stainless steel, nickel alloys, NACE, and large bore applications. I am a contributor to API RP 615 Valve Selection Guide. I have strong knowledge of all major competitors in the PVF distribution industry.
