A lot of this story is not known to most people because we were always moving too fast to connect all the dots. Silicon Cowboys premiered on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin. It was screened four times on different days, and it created such a buzz that we were given a fifth screening at the end of the festival. Several potential distributors were present at the premier, and offers to buy the distribution rights began to come in shortly after the screening. By Sunday night we had selected Film Rise to be our worldwide distributor. Their plan is to do a nationwide theatrical release early in the fall followed by BluRay, DVD and VOD distribution soon after. The film far exceeded my expectations. Jason Cohen, the director, put together a fast paced thriller that kept audiences' attention glued to the screen for the entire 77 minutes. In addition to the 15 early Compaq people he interviewed, Jason rounded out the story with comments from two ex-IBM executives, a financial analyst/venture capitalist, an industry analyst/Harvard lecturer and a New York Times technology reporter. I couldn't be happier with the result.
