I completed my Master's of Library Science from Emporia State University. My favorite genre to read is Historical Fiction. I love the learning that takes place when real events and facts are skillfully inserted into an engaging story! I am energized by interacting with and assisting people who are motivated to improve themselves through formal and informal education. I believe in educational choices from Kindergarten through higher education. There isn't one educational model that is right for every single person. 2021 was my second year as a volunteer for the National History Day in Idaho, a project-based contest for students in grades 6 - 12. I didn't realize I loved History until I was an adult because I never had a teacher make the subject come alive for me. I hope by volunteering with the National History Day, I have made it easier for younger students to fuel their passion for knowledge. In August 2020, I had the opportunity to create an interactive display at Stevens-Henager College celebrating the Centennial Anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution.
