Started getting into computers about age 9 or 10 when my dad brought home an Atari ST 1000??? Started out playing Silent Service and then when that was old, I learned how to program using C from a book that my dad used at ITT. From then on it was a hobby, learning about old BBS systems and some of the horrible things distributed on them. Then getting my first Windows PC (DIGITAL 100Mhz) and playing Wolfenstein and Duke Nukem 3D with multiplayer. When we finally jumped on board with the internet, I started learning how to create web pages. I published my first website at the age of 13, actually had to bring a disk to someone at EATEL because I didn't know how to FTP at the time to get it on my hosted space with them. On into high school I kept at it, took over the East Ascension High School website as a Freshman and started working in the A/V Library as a Sophomore. I'm not sure if I actually attended any classes through my Junior year due to always fixing the schools computers. In my Senior year I was accepted to work at BASF in their IT department and served on the Y2K team preparing for the stuff that didn't happen, lol. I created an asset tracking system that was hosted on a Linux machine in my office, it would allow us to keep track of the machines by MAC address and report if they were offline for a period of time so we could verify they had not walked out of the plant. Fire fighting was a huge part of my life until I moved to Memphis, I dearly miss it to this day. I took a job as an IT manager in Memphis and decided to put school on hold indefinitely, I believed experience would trump a college degree in my field and so far it has paid off. When the IT manager position went no where, I decided to start at the bottom with Hilton Hotels and try to work my way up... that didn't pan out either, Blackstone bought them out and sent the jobs overseas.
