In 2011 he founded IMC with sponsors Bain Capital and Oaktree Capital Management by raising over 1 billion to fund the purchase of the International Home Furnishings Center, ShowPlace properties, and the Market Square properties in High Point, N.C. and merging them with World Market Center Las Vegas to form the world’s largest operator of premier permanent showroom and tradeshow space for the furnishings, home décor, and gift industries. In 2017, Maricich led the IMC migration to new ownership when Blackstone, and Fireside Investments, acquired IMC. Following that transition, he later directed the 2018 merger between IMC and AmericasMart in Atlanta and the subsequent acquisition of the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center, creating a compelling presence on the East and West US coasts that now encompasses more than 22 million square feet of world-class B2B exhibition space. In June of 2023, International Market Centers rebranded to ANDMORE, repositioning the company as a fully omnichannel marketplace utilizing digital tools to fuel opportunities for both buyers and sellers. Maricich joined World Market Center as chief executive officer in January 2008. Prior to that, Maricich spent 11 years as CEO of the leading luxury furniture manufacturer Century Furniture Industries. From 1989 -1996 Maricich was President of American Drew Furniture and American of Martinsville. Before that, he was an executive with Flexsteel Industries, Texaco, and the R.S Bacon Veneer Co. In 2017, Maricich was honored with the American Heritage Distinguished Service Award by the American Home Furnishings Alliance. In 2019, he received the Furniture Industry Icon Award from the International Home Furnishings Representatives Association. The Anti-Defamation League honored him with their American Heritage Award and he also has been honored as the Man of the Year by the Tri-State Home Furnishings Association. In 2021 Maricich was inducted into the Home Furnishings Hall of Fame, the furnishings industry’s highest honor. In 2024 he transitioned from CEO to Executive Chairman of the Board. Maricich is a graduate of Montana State University with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. He and his wife Ande have 3 grown sons and currently reside in Key Largo, FL, and Kennebunkport, ME. He is a lifelong fly fisherman.
