Robert Kutner is a Robert H. Kutner is the Director of Process Research and former Director of Vector Development at bluebird bio and the former Director of the Vector Core facility at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. At bluebird bio, he has developed a scalable process for GMP manufacturing of clinical grade HIV-1 based Lentiviral vectors. Currently he has generated clinical grade Lentiviral vectors for an ongoing trials for Hematological and Neurological disorders. Prior to joining bluebird bio and while at LSUHSC, he advanced analytical and manufacturing process for multiple viral vector systems which included; recombinant Adenovirus vectors, single or double stranded recombinant Adeno-Associated vectors, recombinant Fowlpox, recombinant Modified Vaccinia Ankara, and recombinant HIV-1 based Lentiviral vectors. Research spanned collaborations with the Audubon Institute for Endangered Species to generate the first transgenic green fluorescent cat by using somatic cell nuclear transfer in conjunction with Lentiviral vector based genetic modification. Including extensive experience producing and purifying various psuedotyped HIV-1 based lentiviral vectors for use in both preclinical and clinical utilities of genetically modified bone-marrow derived stem cells.
