I have also instructed for the Justice Institute of BC and for the Office of the Police Complaints Commissioner on this topic as an adjunct instructor. I am a provincially qualified use of force instructor and a court recognized non-firearm weapon recognition expert. I have been involved in Martial Arts for the past 30 yrs. Prior to policing, I lived and worked in China and South Korea as an ESL teacher for three years. Before that, I put myself through university, earning a BA in Philosophy and Humanities.
