As Chad Supply grew to 56M in annual revenue with 26 branches and 500 employees, I was able to watch, learn, and help create the processes, infrastructure requirements, and innovations that were critical to scale a local supplier into a national powerhouse. Selling the business in 1998 gave me the opportunity to try out different business ideas. I owned or invested in companies in eight different industries, but I wasn’t passionate about any of them, so I encouraged my family to re-enter the wholesale distribution industry. We launched Chadwell Supply in 2007, and I was thrilled to get back into supply chain management, logistics, warehousing, customer experience design, and distribution technology. I am truly passionate about distribution. Chadwell Supply has grown from a startup to over 900M annual revenue with 2,300+ employees in 15 years. I am very proud of that, but I am most proud of our company's family-oriented culture and my fantastic team. I have surrounded myself with people that are much better than I am at what they do, though I am the go-to person when tough strategic problems need to be solved. I enjoy creating the processes, identifying the resources required, and technical innovations necessary to give us a competitive advantage. I have watched front-line employees grow into first-time managers and then bloom into respected leaders. As I’ve continued to improve my skills in helping these leaders develop, I’ve learned that my best return on investment is in people. When someone does something they previously didn’t think they could do, and you see the smile in their eyes, there’s magic in that. When I’m not at work, I enjoy watching my children work hard in their chosen paths and trying not to splash my wife as I learn to drive a boat.
