From 1994 to 2005, I gained courtroom and leadership experience in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. I served as a tort claims attorney and a criminal defense attorney at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, as a prosecutor and the senior prosecutor at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, XVIII Airborne Corps, and the chief of military justice for the Eighth United States Army in the Republic of Korea. After earning a Master of Laws in Military Law at the Judge Advocate General's School, I joined the faculty in the Criminal Law Department teaching subjects in military criminal law, including the Sixth Amendment at a time when the existing jurisprudence underwent revolutionary change after the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Crawford v. Washington, 541 U.S. 36 (2004).
