Robby Caspeele Email & Phone Number | Currently, I am Professor in the field of Structural Reliability at the Department of Structural Engineering and Building Materials (UGent, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture), with research, education and service activities at the Laboratory Magnel-Vandepitte. I received my M. Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering from Ghent University in 2006. From 2006 to 2010 I was a Research Assistant of the FWO Research Foundation of Flanders and in 2010 I obtained my Ph. D. degree in Civil Engineering at Ghent University on the topic ‘Probabilistic evaluation of conformity control and the use of Bayesian updating techniques in the framework of safety analyses of concrete structures’. From 2010 until 2013 I was a postdoctoral researcher at Ghent University. My main areas of expertise are full-probabilistic and semi-probabilistic structural reliability analysis and risk management of structures, production and conformity control, analysis of concrete and steel structures, assessment of existing structures, numerical simulation techniques and large scale structural testing. I am a member of several national and international standardization committees and working groups related to structural engineering, among which I am Deputy Chair of fib Commission 3 ‘Existing concrete structures', Board Member of the Joint Committee on Structural Safety (JCSS), President of the Belgian mirror committee NBN E250/25001 of the Structural Eurocodes, and national expert for CEN/TC250/WG6 ‘Robustness’, CEN/TC250/WG2 ‘Existing Structures’, CEN/TC250/SC10 ‘EN1990’, ...
