Currently I am heading the systems toxicology and integrative safety data sciences (internal exposome) activities at The Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research TNO. I have extensive expertise in acquisition and scientific coordination of M€ research projects/or associated work packages in these areas . Most recent one involves the H2020 Exposome Project for Health and Occupational Research (EPHOR, https://www.ephor-project.eu/) for which I am part of the coordinating team. ~60 publications/ book chapters in the areas of genomics and toxicoinformatics/bioinformatics, exposure and risk assessment, carcinogenesis, DNA repair. Main Interests: -Improvement of human health by minimizing possible safety issues associated with external life style stressors (including drugs, chemicals, environmental pollution, engineered nanomaterials, nutrition and interactions (within the exposome). -With special attention to contributions to alternative animal testing approaches of relevance to humans and applications for the working population. -Making use of innovative technologies: e.g. systems toxicology, omics/systems biology, modelling, computational approaches, data infrastructures.
