Rob Ayasse Email & Phone Number | Having served in the Canadian army as a reserve Combat Engineer while attending the University of Alberta, I completed an M.Sc. Econ degree in International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1998. I then worked for two years in the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs as OSCE Desk Officer and moved on to NATO HQ, Brussels, in 2000. Since then I have been engaged on various aspects of NATO's current operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, off the coast of Somalia and in Afghanistan, including operational strategy development and assessment. Since 2007 I have also been the NATO HQ expert-level focal point for the Protection of Civilians in operational areas. This involves championing internal NATO-wide efforts to reduce civilian casualties and mitigate their effects, as well as engaging with key external stakeholders on these issues, such as the UN, International Committee of the Red Cross, and the wider NGO community. In parallel to this public sector track, I became very interested in private sector management and strategy. I therefore completed an Executive MBA at the IE Business School, Madrid, in July 2010. I have since become involved in the oil and gas clean technology sector. I served on the Board of Directors of Alchem Field Services, in OKC, and as the company's President, until December 2012. I continue to serve as the Vice President for International Marketing and Governmental Affairs at the Calgary-based Canada Chemical Corporation. Finally, I founded VERDIS Synthetic Fuels, a Canada Chemical subsidiary based in the UAE, in April 2010. I continue to lead the company's efforts to commercialize a new, patented, Gas to Diesel (GTD) technology that will give Oil and Gas producers a profitable alternative to the damaging practice of gas-flaring and venting.
