Only now, in mid 2019 is some sort of program being developed to give a sense that who you are working with has a license and therefore must be a well trained and manged professional. And I must admit what the certification program right now is, really means nothing. When choosing someone to represent you in your purchase, ask three simple questions, 1) do you have a current US or Canadian real estate license and 2) do you currently Own a property here in Los Cabos and 3) how long have you lived in Los Cabos? If you are considering investing in a foreign country, where rules and cultures are not the same as where you are from, wouldn't you want your representative to own themselves or has been in the area long enough to know the history and differences in each of our different areas and completed enough transactions to lead you in the proper direction? I was originally licensed in Alexandria, Virginia and Washington DC in 1996 with Century 21. After joining Re/Max I earned my Brokers license in 2000 (current) and Mexican Brokers License in 2019. I completed the NAR courses, GRI, ABR, CRS, RSPS, CIPS, CNE and PM Luxury Marketing Pro, served on the MLS Honor and Justice Committee and have been a real estate trainer and manager for several years here in Los Cabos. If you ever visit and stay in San Jose del Cabo, I'm that guy on the beach twice a day with the five German Shepherds and I welcome you to come over and meet the family.
