Rick Rurka Email & Phone Number | My name is Rick Rurka, I have been installing Loadrite products since 1989, I am a heavy-duty mechanic by trade, when the company that I worked for told us they were shutting down, I decided to start my own company. In the beginning, I worked on excavators and sold and installed Loadrite scales. I first started a numbered company March 19, 1993 and changed it to R. L. RURKA SALES AND SERVICE INC. on May 4, 1993. We have been growing ever since! The first scales I installed in 1989 were the LR500 and LP400 printer. To use the LR500 you had to stop the loader and be full RPM to get an accurate weight. The LR710 had RPM sensing, and by the LR810 we had bounce comp, we could always achieve under 1% if the operators lifted by the recommended procedure. The scales were something new, and it took some training for the operators, but once they got use to using them, they saw the benefits to the scale and realized these were an essential part of their day to day operations. Loadrite products have become an essential part of a growing economy, using innovative technology to help operators become more efficient, and complete their job more effectively and confidently. Today this company has 4 employees including myself. I am still one of the technicians that go onto site, I love to connect with our customers, and be involved in every aspect of this growing business. We now have a sale representative, Chris Walton. Curtis Reimer is our other technician, and Jennifer Labelle is my Executive Assistant. We serve a variety of industries including quarrying, mining, construction, public works, transportation, waste and recycling, agriculture and more. We are now the Western Canada distributors of the Trimble Loadrite brand. We specialize in payload systems for the following: wheel loaders of any make and size, Legal for Trade, Excavators and mining shovels, Conveyor belts, forklifts, and now refuse truck scales!
