Richard Scrivens Email & Phone Number | From a young age, I always wanted to be an Army Soldier that was the defender of my family. This was instilled in me since my family was an Army family for multiple generations since World War I. I was that kid always playing outside and having saved my family from whatever imaginary enemy that came to mind that day. I was so focused to join the military, that I graduated when I was 16 and enlisted on my 17th birthday. From there, I pushed myself to become an Airborne Combat Engineer Paratrooper where I found a passion being the cutting edge of my country’s sword (SAPPER). I spent seven years jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft and defending my country either in Afghanistan or Iraq. After that stint, I pushed myself to become a Drill Sergeant where I found a passion educating young Soldiers. When I finished my time as a Drill Sergeant, I found my passion in Environmental Studies after seeing the constant harm we do daily to not only our environment but ourselves. This helped me become the Battalion Environmental Compliance Officer where I could start making a change and instilling good habits to the masses. Here, I helped try and mitigate the damages that Soldiers would do daily utilizing education and experience. The change coming out of the military allowed for me to attend college and pursue my dreams of making a difference. I enrolled immediately in College once I arrived in California and started working on gaining more knowledge and ways that I can make an impact. During my endeavors, I was approved for a Sustainability grant to help bring awareness and collect pertinent data that can be utilized to make a change for future generations. Right now I am looking for jobs working in Environmental Compliance.
