Renee Runge Email & Phone Number | I am a third-year dual degree graduate student at Simmons University pursuing an M.A. in Children's Literature and M.F.A. in Writing For Children. In Spring 2021, I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida with a B.A. in English, specializing in children's and adolescent literature. The culmination of my undergraduate degree is my undergraduate honors thesis, "The Influence of Social Darwinism on British Anthropomorphic Children’s Stories of the 19th and 20th Centuries". I am highly interested in the world of children's publishing and anything and everything to do with the concept of childhood and children's culture. I particularly enjoy working with historic and archival material. Spring 2019, I interned at the Center for Children's Literature and Culture through the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at UF, where I helped archive and digitally remaster over 1,000 episodes of the WUFT-NPR radio program, "Recess!". This program explores the past and present of all things related to childhood. Its archival serves as an important link to the study of children's literature that will be accessible to scholars for years to come. I am a brother of Alpha Phi Omega, the premier gender-inclusive community service fraternity in the United States. I proudly served as President of Tau chapter at the University of Florida during my last year of undergrad, Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters. I am also the Founder and President of Community Angel Network, Inc., a Palm Beach County nonprofit.
