The Buckhead Coalition is an influential nonprofit civic association, much like a chamber of commerce, for the Buckhead Community in the city of Atlanta. Its mission is to “nurture the quality of life and help coordinate an orderly growth” within its 28 square miles, with a population of over 100,000. The mission of the Buckhead CID is to create and maintain a more accessible and livable urban environment. BCID meets the challenges of growth by investing tax dollars collected from commercial property owners within the district, as well as other funds leveraged from outside the district, to make meaningful improvements in the transportation network and public realm that connect people and places. Livable Buckhead is a nonprofit organization that strives to ensure the long-term viability and prosperity of the Buckhead community. The organization achieves its mission by working cooperatively with individuals, public entities and private businesses to integrate sustainable strategies. Livable Buckhead implements programs related to greenspace, recycling, energy efficiency, commute alternatives, arts and culture, real estate development and land use. These organizations complement each other with similar goals and missions for the Buckhead community. My role for both organizations includes financial oversight for the organizations. I ensure the organizations are running smoothly on a day to day basis, administer all benefits and personnel issues for the organization. I also participate in program administration for those programs and projects with significant financial components to ensure they are appropriately tracked and prudent financial controls are maintained.
