After earning my BSN at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, I first worked as a Medical Surgical RN at Medical City Dallas. For the past couple years, I have been working as a RN in the Emergency Department at Parkland Hospital. My skill set has grown an incredible amount since graduating. I have learned to think quickly, prioritize, lead and work as a team. I have been a Preceptor and Mentor for numerous students and new nurses. Most importantly, my confidence and love for this field has grown each and every day. I take great pride in caring for my patients. I hold myself to high expectations at all times because I want to provide the best quality care. I love it when I can make my sad, hurting patients, smile and feel better. A large interest and passion of mine outside of nursing has always been beauty. There is no better feeling than to share my knowledge/skills with other people in order to help them feel happier and more beautiful. Although I do love bedside nursing, I hope to make the transition into the cosmetic nursing field. This would give me the opportunity to mend both my passion of beauty and nursing together.
