Davis, a judicial clerkship with the Johnson County, Kansas District Court, and most recently I served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Kansas. As a result of these experiences, I have gained superior legal research, analytical, and writing skills, particularly in the area of criminal law. I have the ability to handle a vast and complex caseload. As a research attorney for the District Court, I worked for as many as seven judges at one time, in both criminal and civil areas of the law. I participated in pre-hearing conferences and was the liaison between the court and interested parties. Thus, I have developed excellent communication and interpersonal skills and am able to explain complex concepts to many different people. Through this experience I have also developed strong organizational and scheduling skills. During law school, I was an active member of the Creighton Law Review, writing a casenote analyzing the Federal False Claims Act. I also participated in moot court competition, arguing two rounds. I received outstanding scores in both my Advanced Legal Writing and Advanced Legal Research courses and was a research assistant for the first-year legal research classes. While completing my undergraduate degree in business and marketing, I was the production editor of my college newspaper. As editor I wrote and edited articles for print. I supervised a staff of reporters, and production assistants. I worked with fellow editors and vendors to ensure a quality newspaper was produced on time.
