NSS was the fastest growing enterprise within Orbital Sciences Corporation. • Director of the largest engineering organization at Orbital Sciences Corporation, responsible for Systems Engineering Leadership of all Spacecraft, Human Spaceflight, Ground Segment and Mission Operations activities. • Director of the team that designed, built, tested, installed and operated COMSAT’s Planet-1 System. This was the first system in the world to provide global voice, fax and data from a laptop-sized satellite terminal • Program Manager and key contributor in the architecture generation and requirements generation for PanAmSat’s Ka Band IP Satellite Communications System. • Program Manager of the team which developed DARPA’s Special Communications Satellite Cluster (SCSC). The SCSC was the forerunner of today’s LEO constellations and set a precedent for low-cost spacecraft manufacture and test. These Space assets were used by the DoD in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. • Leader of the engineering team that implemented wide-band direct connectivity between the Remote Tracking Stations and the Consolidated Space Operations Center for the USAF’s Satellite Control Network.
