He played a strategic role in major projects such as the overhaul of the CS and PS Core Networks to the latest technology, MNP (Mobile Number Portability), the launch and management of the first MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) and the swap out of IT/Billing/CRM networks to the latest Technology. Further experience was gained in planning capacity expansions, costing of network components, integration of new nodes, implementation of major software upgrades and the rollout of several projects in the Mobile Telecommunication environment. During his time at Telecom Vendors, Ravi has gained further knowlegdge in technologies that include NFV(Network Functions Virtualization) Core, 5G Core, Network Slicing, MEC, IMS (Internet Multimedia Systems), 2G/3G/4G/5G RAN (Radio Access Networks), Bearer Networks (IP RAN), FTTX (Fiber to the x), Enterprise Architecture, UCS (Unified Communications Service) BSS (Business Support Systems), OSS(Operational Support Systems), DPI(Deep Packet Inspection), PCRF(Policy and Charging Rule Function), VoLTE (Voice over Long Term Evolution) and IoT(Internet of Things). Ravi has 7 years management experience, whereby he managed and developed engineering staff from apprentices to fully productive roles. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Natal and has recently obtained a Masters in Business Leadership from UNISA’s School of Business Leadership.
