Randy Lutz Email & Phone Number | I started down the accounting road as a freshman in college who aced management accounting. After spending a semester with a CPA in a tax office I was pretty sure taxes wasn't what I wanted to do, but I tried it one more year with a different CPA in a different state before concluding finally that I was a management accountant, a cost accountant specifically. Upon receiving my degree, it struck me that manufacturing businesses were few and far between these days in the US, and that even the corporate offices in many cases were moving out of the country, leaving very few jobs not in sales here in the states. I struggled for a while to figure out where and how to apply my cost accounting background within the business world. Over the past year, I've realized my place; healthcare accounting. Accounting for healthcare is on the precipice of an 80's manufacturing like change in terms of efficiency, concentration on costs, and overall working smarter not harder, using advanced business analysis tools and processes to get ahead of the game. I've become certified as a six sigma green belt, and intend to continue intensifying my focus as a management accountant in the coming months. I've already begun a black belt six sigma training course which I intend to finish by the end of February 2017, and I'm aiming to sit for my CMA exams in May, and aim to start my MBA in the fall of 2017. My studies revolve around RVU's, healthcare costing, and six sigma application in the healthcare environment. I intend to become an industry leader in this healthcare accounting transformation over the coming years.
