My interests in the legal sphere focus broadly on civil rights/international human rights law, juvenile justice, and federal Indian law. I am also interested in the intersections between the law and public policy initiatives. I began my Peace Corps service in January 2020 as a Health Education Volunteer in Albania. I was evacuated due to the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020, shortly after being sworn in as a volunteer. As a graduate of Carleton College, majoring in sociology and anthropology with a minor in women's and gender studies, I specifically focused on environmental sociology/anthropology and looked at how human interactions with the natural environment impact social interactions within a group. In this line of work, I served as a student researcher and intern at the White Earth Land Recovery Project for several months where I explored the intersections between climate change and food sovereignty from a social science lens. I also received the 2019 Rachel A. Rosenfeld Prize for Excellence in the Study of Sociology and Anthropology in the sociology and anthropology department. Previously, I was a street team organizer and health care advocate at Planned Parenthood where I did advocacy work in Moorhead, Minnesota, and Fargo, North Dakota. In this position, I mainly educated individuals on Planned Parenthood's mission and tried to get more support for the organization in the area. When I am not busy with schoolwork or jobs, I love hiking or running with my dog, kayaking, baking and cooking, and traveling whenever I can!
